Bulimia is called repeated binge eating attacks: on average, 2 times a week for at least three months, a person compulsively (uncontrollably) absorbs an unusually large amount of food. Although the name of this disorder is translated from Greek as “bull hunger,” in most cases it is not associated with increased appetite. Compulsive overeating appears to be the result of psychological problems, possibly complicated by hormonal imbalances or brain biochemical abnormalities.
Bulimia is a predominantly female disorder. Despite regular overeating, most people suffering from bulimia maintain a more or less normal weight, although in many people it is often increased by 4 -5 kg. This paradox is due to the fact that they seek to compensate for gluttony with a hungry diet, increased physical exertion, inducing vomiting, abuse of laxatives and enemas, and some cleanse the digestive tract after every meal, even quite normal.
Bulimia is associated with approximately half the cases of anorexia nervosa. Both disorders are characterized by dissatisfaction with their appearance due to "excess" weight, a passion for low-calorie diets, a fear of losing control of oneself and becoming fat. As a rule, both begin with the desire to lose weight quickly: a person sharply restricts himself in food, but, experiencing severe hunger, breaks down and eats up, usually with high-calorie sweets, and then suffers from shame, guilt and “cleanses” his body . Overeating and getting rid of the eaten is a vicious cycle, and attacks are often provoked by psychological discomfort by stress, anxiety, loneliness, boredom. The gluttony phase can be delayed up to several hours, during which up to 50,000 kcal is consumed.
HARM FOR HEALTH
Regular cleansing of the digestive tract can have serious consequences, including nutrient deficiency and sodium-potassium imbalance, leading to loss of strength, fainting, and palpitations. Gastric acid of vomit burns the mucous membrane of the esophagus and corrodes the tooth enamel. Laxatives and enemas irritate the large intestine up to rectal bleeding. In addition, if every now and then stimulate bowel movements, normal peristalsis is disturbed, and, without spurring it artificially, a person suffers from constipation. Finally, there are often such severe mental complications of bulimia as depression and suicidal tendencies. In the darknet you can
