Mistakes when writing a resume
Superfluous information in the resume
Marital status, hobbies, the number and age of children, religious and political views, praising the applicant's outstanding qualities are not relevant to the relevance of experience, knowledge and skills description of the job, but can be ambiguous and subjectively perceived by the employer.
In addition, unnecessary information in the resume distracts the employer from the text that meets his needs.
Remove irrelevant information from your resume.
If the employer really wants to know if you are into diving, wait to be asked about it in the interview.
List heterogeneous/different job titles on your resume
A resume of a job seeker with the title of the position sought, "Sales Director, Sales Manager," sent as a response to a "sales manager" position is unlikely to be considered - most likely it was sent by mistake, since "director" by definition should not be interested in a "manager" position.
But the resume "Secretary, Assistant Manager" probably will not cause suspicion - the listing of positions with similar work content is quite logical.
Mismatch between the title of the resume and the work experience
If the title of the resume is "Commercial Director" but the work experience does not include experience in a similar or similar position, the recruiter can not convince himself to invite this candidate for an interview, because nothing but a desire to take the desired position, the applicant's ambition is not supported by anything.
Any other candidate with minimal experience in a position close to the content of the job will by definition be preferred.
The desire to set ambitious goals is worthy of respect, but be realistic - soberly assess the competition and expectations of employers in the labor market.
Do not bet on vacancies, the chances of which are slim, but also apply to jobs for which you are competitive - it is better to receive offers and choose the best, than wait in vain for your "dream job".
Inconsistency of salary expectations with the realities of the labor market
"Overestimating" the value of one's qualifications is, of course, worse than underestimating.
If you find yourself "out of the market," you may not wait for offers.
Do not be lazy to study the labor market, compare your qualifications with the qualifications of other applicants, calculate your value in the labor market.
Mistakes in the text of the resume
Speech, spelling, syntax, stylistic.
A resume is an advertisement; it's hardly a good idea to advertise your inattention and/or illiteracy.
Check and double-check the text, use spell-checking in Word, ask those who are good at Russian to proofread your resume.
Failure to indicate the profile of previous employers
If relevant experience is important, you should indicate the profile of former employers at the beginning of your resume description.
If you do not, you reduce your chances of obtaining the desired position.
If you want to make your resume perfect and without a single error, it is easier to buy a resume.
